OPTIMA is a Big Hit at the Copper on Dirt
03.17.2008
After calling Friday night’s time trials and qualifying due to rain, The Copper on Dirt was rescheduled for a one-day Saturday event. Gates opened at 10:00 am and USAC timed and qualified 10 cars at a time, getting through all 268 cars by 3:00 p.m. Then the real racing began with Western Midgets, CRC Sprints and K&N Silver Crown cars showcasing the event. Team OPTIMA met and spoke with hundreds of fans on hand for the event. We heard many stories from the spectators about their great experiences with OPTIMA Batteries. The best story came from Greg Jarman - Greg owns a Jeep rock crawler with an OPTIMA RedTop. While out rock-crawling in the Arizona desert, Greg encountered a fuel problem which left him stranded almost a mile from his transport vehicle. Using only the cranking power from his OPTIMA RedTop battery, Greg disengaged the clutch and used the OPTIMA and a cranking starter to limp his way all the way to his transport vehicle! If that’s not enough, after making repairs to his carb, Greg’s OPTIMA still had enough cranking power to restart the crawler! What a testament to the power and durability of the OPTIMA!
