Powermaster PowerGEN alternators
The hottest market segment in the automotive aftermarket right now has to be vintage-style speed parts. The demand for traditionally-styled performance parts, from multi-carb intakes to reground cams, is booming. What has not been offered before is a replacement for a modern alternator that maintains traditional looks.
Powermaster Motorsports stepped up and changed all of that with their new PowerGEN line of alternators disguised as vintage generators! These new products have been developed to replace the original generator in many applications while being able to deliver 75 peak amps, with 60 amps at idle!
The PowerGEN is available in stock-like black finish, a polished finish, or a chrome-plated finish. Applications for '39-up Ford Flatheads as well as GM short and long versions up to '64 are available now, and the basic design is so similar to so many other manufacturer's original generators that it would not be hard to adapt a PowerGEN to look comfortable under the hood of just about any vintage ride. The bracketry is similarly basic, and any competent hot rodder should be able to make a good-looking functional setup with minimal effort if a bolt-in swap isn't yet available from Powermaster.
Inside the stock-style case are all modern components, and one wire is all that's required to hook it up.
Many hot rodders have always felt modern alternators just didn't look right on early hot rod engines, and now there's finally a good option that looks right and functions like a new unit. Congrats to Powermaster for delivering exactly what the market was looking for, and doing so with a good quality product and some style options to give customers exactly what they wanted.
