A Tale of Two Racetracks
It was a busy weekend of racing nationwide and OPTIMA was up to their eyeballs in speed and performance. On the West Coast, OPTIMA representatives were checking out the action at the NHRA Fram-Autolite Nationals at Infineon Raceway, particularly that relating to Kalitta Motorsports, as OPTIMA is now a sponsor of their race teams.
Back home, there was plenty of action just North of OPTIMA World Headquarters at Elkhart Lake's Road America. The Kohler International Challenge with Brian Redman brought more than 400 vintage cars to one of the world's most-famous road courses. OPTIMA's sponsorship of the SVRA sanctioning body keeps us well-entrenched in this historical world or speed and beauty.
Each year, the KIC shines a spotlight on a specific vehicle or driver and this year it was the life and times of racing legend, Mark Donohue.
Several Penske-Hilton Camaros were in attendance, as well as the stunning Porsche Audi 917/30-
Whether it was Jeff Arend's Nitro-burning funny car or Bill Dentinger's (sometimes) oil-burning '56 Triumph TR3, the common denominator that keeps many of these race cars running is an OPTIMA Battery.
