OPTIMA- The Preferred Choice for Magazine Project Vehicles

Virtually every car magazine out there routinely has at least two or three project cars at any given time.  Like many of the projects their readers have, magazine projects do not always come off exactly as planned.  That could certainly be said of GM High-Tech Performance magazine's Project Heart Attack.

Their project car went through two different re-manufactured alternators during the course of the build, before they finally acquired a new unit.  Each time the previous alternators failed, the electrical demands fell squarely on the battery.  GMHTP even admitted they drove their project for 15 to 30 minutes at a time without a functioning alternator.

While that is certainly not recommended use for any battery, it's good to know that a battery can hold up to that kind of abuse when needed.  If you'd like to read more about Project Heart Attack, check out this link- http://is.gd/eYpqI
