RedTop vs. YellowTop
Hector Manrriquez's '89 Mazda B2200 is like a lot of slammed trucks we see- tricked out in every way possible- shaved, slammed, bagged and loaded up witt plenty of power behind his Pioneer head unit. The natural inclination for many customizers is to match the appearance of their vehicle with every component, whenever possible. Hector did a great job of making his Kicker 15-inch Solo Baric L7s match the rest of his truck, but when it came to a battery choice, he bucked that trend and went with an OPTIMA YellowTop, instead of a RedTop.
Why did Hector choose the YellowTop? Because YellowTops are designed both for starting and deep-cycle applications, while RedTops are designed for starting and vehicles with relatively-stock accessories. That definitely does not include anything on Hector's ride. From the airbags to the amps, Hector's truck screams YellowTop, even if it comes in a red wrapper.
