A Busy Weekend in the Monster Truck World
How can someone be in two places at once? With humans, it is difficult, with monster trucks, the answer is simple- just build more! Last weekend, one of OPTIMA's sponsored monster trucks managed just such a feat. RAMINATOR is based out of Champaign, Illinois and last weekend, it competed in the Monster Nationals, where it faced off against the other truck out of the Halls Bros. stable, RAMMUNITION in the semi-finals. Mark Hall and RAMINATOR were able to best teammate Mat Dishman in RAMMUNITION, before squaring off against Bigfoot in the final round. Unfortunately for RAMINATOR, Bigfoot drew the preferable lane and the race was all but decided before it even began.
However, halfway across the country, Steve Macklin was piloting another RAMINATOR at the Hampton, Virginia Monster Jam. Macklin has been racing nitro funny cars lately, but transitioned well, defeating Grave Digger, to win his first race back on the monster truck circuit. Double duty continues for Hall Racing, as one truck is headed out to Tulare, Californiafor the World Ag Expo, while two others are scheduled to race at the Monster Jam event coming up in Grand Rapids this weekend. If you would like to see one of these trucks up close, be sure to check out those events or head down to the Daytona 500, where they'll have one parked at the Dodge display.
