OPTIMA® Batteries to Introduce New Product, Celebrate Fifth Anniversary of OPTIMA Invitational During 2012 SEMA Show
Performance Automotive Aftermarket Leader to Make Significant Brand and Product Announcements during Largest Industry Trade Show
Oct. 23, 2012 (MILWAUKEE) – OPTIMA® Batteries, the global leader in high-performance automotive and marine batteries, has several major announcements and debuts planned for the 2012 SEMA Show. The OPTIMA booth, located at #22755 in Central Hall, is the largest it has ever been and will host two press conferences during the trade show and conclude the week with the fifth year anniversary of the OPTIMA® Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
Free OPTIMA Batteries for Feature Vehicles
Once again, OPTIMA Batteries will provide complimentary batteries to SEMA feature and booth vehicles on Saturday, October 27, and Sunday, October 28, before the show, available on a first come, first serve basis. Attendees and exhibitors can look for the OPTIMA rig and representatives near the feature vehicle check-in within the vehicle holding area and learn more about the unique opportunity. Installation is not included and will need to be provided by vehicle owners.
New Product Announcement
On Tuesday afternoon, OPTIMA Batteries is scheduled to introduce its newest product and the announcement will be made in OPTIMA’s booth #22755 in Central Hall at 1:30 p.m. PT. SEMA Show attendees and media can come see the innovative product.
OPTIMA Batteries invites SEMA attendees to stop by the booth for several autograph sessions during the show. NHRA Top Fuel drag racing team members from Kalitta Motorsports, including David Grubnic, Jeff Arend and Alexis DeJoria will be signing autographs in the OPTIMA booth (#22755 in Central Hall) on Tuesday following the new product announcement from 2-3 p.m. PT.
On Thursday, November 1, OPTIMA Batteries will host Erik Buell of Erik Buell Racing (EBR) from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Erik Buell Racing builds motorcycles without compromise and is the very definition of the American spirit. Like OPTIMA, EBR is committed to ongoing innovation and advanced technology to offer the most competitive performance products manufactured today.
OPTIMA Batteries will once again showcase world-class vehicles in its booth, some of which will participate in the fifth annual OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational immediately following this year’s Show. A few of these will include:
- 1969 Chevrolet Camaro by 2010 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational and Sony Gran Turismo winner, Mark Stielow
- 1965 Ford Mustang (2012 Street Machine of the Year) built by Ring Brothers, owned by Gary Bowers
- 1970 Chevrolet C10 Pickup by Phil Gerber and the Roadster Shop
- Dodge Power Wagon with modern diesel chassis by ICON
- BMW Speedbyrd owned by “Two Guys Garage” radio show host Kevin Byrd
OPTIMA will also have several motorcycles on display within its booth, including a 2013 1190RS Buell motorcycle that is newly designed and recently launched.
Wall of Power
During the 2012 SEMA Show, OPTIMA will reveal three newly inducted Wall of Power batteries. OPTIMA’s hall-of-fame display offers booth visitors the opportunity to learn more about legendary stories of survival from OPTIMA’s elite enthusiasts. The batteries come from all over the world, and showcase incredible stories that include broken records, survived collisions, natural disasters and even explosions.
OPTIMA® Batteries and the Golden State Foods Foundation have partnered to support the Boys Girls Club (and several additional organizations) through an all-new charitable Build-A-Bike program. Through this partnership hundreds of children from Boys Girls Clubs in four communities across America have had the opportunity to build a bicycle and at the end of the day, ride off with a new sense of purpose and belief in themselves.
The final event of the year will take place at the infamous Shelby Museum on Friday, November 2, where 50 kids from Las Vegas’ Boys Girls Club will be able to build and take home new bicycles.
OPTIMA® Ultimate Street Car Invitational
OPTIMA will hold a press conference on Thursday, November 1 at 11 a.m. PT within the booth to announce the final group of drivers and state-of-the-art vehicles selected to participate in the fifth annual OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. At this time, OPTIMA Batteries will also reveal several celebrity integrations for the 5th year anniversary.
Participating vehicles can be found on the SEMA Show floor and in the OPTIMA Invitational Car Corral, located outside in the Las Vegas Convention Center silver lot. New this year, OPTIMA will reward tradeshow attendees for seeking out OPTIMA Invitational drivers and collecting their own limited-edition, personal trading cards. Attendees that collect 10 or more will be rewarded with prizes including free tickets to the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Attendees should visit the OPTIMA Booth (#22755 Central Hall) between 2-4 p.m. each day to redeem prizes.
The OPTIMA Invitational, presented by KN Filters and Royal Purple, will take place at Spring Mountain Motor Ranch. The event will kick-off on Friday, November 2 at the SEMA Show with the Detroit Speed and Engineering/JRI Shocks Road Rally.
