Bret Voelkel's 1933 Ford wins the 2013 OPTIMA® Faceoff at Road America
It's been just over a year since Bret Voelkel and the crew at Ridetech completed the build on this 1933 Factory Five Ford Coupe, but it seems like the car has been just about everywhere and done just about everything already, including a trip to SEMA, the HOT ROD Power Tour, the 2012 OUSCI, the cover of HOT ROD magazine and now the top spot at the 2013 OPTIMA Faceoff, presented by Royal Purple and KN Filters.
Voelkel topped a field of more than 70 street cars to take top honors at this year's Faceoff, finishing amongst the leaders in nearly every event. Voelkel edged out Brian Finch in the Wilwood Speed/Stop Challenge, finished a close second to Dennis Prunty in the Ridetech Autocross and notched a top-10 finish (eighth) on the BF Goodrich Hot Lap Challenge to edge out Stephen Kelper and Todd Rumpke for the top spot.
