One Battery in a Series of Ultimate Torture Tests
It’s one thing to call yourself The Ultimate Power Source®, but it’s another thing to go out and prove it.
We designed the all-new OPTIMA® YELLOWTOP® with PUREFLOW TECHNOLOGY™ to be tough, but to see how tough we put one single battery through a series of seven Ultimate Torture Tests—featuring some of the most legendary courses, tracks and runs in the world.
We kicked off the Ultimate Torture Test by bringing this battery to King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, California—the ultimate endurance desert race.
After it fought through the torturous desert terrain, we sent that same battery to the Red Rocks of Moab to tackle the tough trails during the annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari.
From Moab, the battery made the journey to Germany and endured the legendary Nürburgring, or Green Hell as drivers call it.
From Germany, the battery was flown back to the States for the Race to the Clouds at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado.
After powering through the highest peak of the Rockies, we took the battery to the Midwest for the Marshall-Putnam County Fair in Henry, Illinois, where it took double the punishment in a demolition derby and a grueling tractor pull the following day.
From the middle of the heartland, the battery was shipped to Key West, Florida, to go for the record books by running a boat from Key West to Cuba in the fastest time ever recorded.
