Kevin Schultz's 2008 Honda S2000 Club Racer competes in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car Series
Kevin Schultz has been competing in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car series for two seasons (2016 & 2017). In Schultz's first season, his 2008 Honda S2000 ran in the Holley EFI GTL Class and for 2017, the addition of the GTC Class resulted in his Honda moving into that class. In Schultz's rookie outing at Thunderhill, he finished eighth in class. He followed that up with an 11th-place finish in Las Vegas and finished off the 2016 regular season with an eighth-place finish at Auto Club Speedway. Schultz accumulated enough points for 10th place on the season in the Holley EFI GTL Class and earned an invitation on points to the 2016 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational in Las Vegas, where he placed 49th overall.
In 2017, Schultz became the first class winner in the new GTC Class at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and followed that up with another GTC Class win at Pike's Peak International Raceway. His season point total in 2017 was good enough for fourth place in the GTC Class on the season. Schultz also improved on his past OUSCI finish, with a 41st place run in 2017.
Schultz is planning on returning for another campaign in 2018 and has already signed up in the GTC Class for events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Pike's Peak International Raceway and Auto Club Speedway.
