Nick Schultz has been competing in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car series since 2014. As a Wisconsinite, Schultz saw the Road America stop as the perfect opportunity to come out and flex the muscles on his incredible, supercharged 2009 Nissan 370Z. The video below only scratches the surface of the amount of work that went into Nick's Nissan and while many cars built to that level are destined for a life of car shows, Nick prefers to also run with the big boys in the RECARO GTS Class in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car Series.
As Nick typically only runs at the Road America event, he doesn't finish very high in the season-long points chase (49th in 2016 and 61st in 2017) but he is always a top contender in the Lingenfelter Design & Engineering Challenge. In fact, he won that segment in the RECARO GTS Class this past season and finished third overall in the field. It's not something we see very often outside of SEMA invitees at the OUSCI. However, regular competitors in the series are familiar enough with Nick's car to know it has consistently performed very well in D&E over the years and will always challenge for wins in that segment. That may be upsetting to some, who are trying to capture every single point possible, but that's exactly how we like it!
