Michael Levitas' 2014 911 Porsche
Did Michael Levitas build the ultimate Porsche 911?
Michael Levitas may have been a rookie last season in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car, presented by Advance Auto Parts, but he is far from a rookie when it comes to anything to do with Porsches and racing. Levitas is a long-time Porsche racer and the owner of TPC Racing, a championship-winning team that has claimed class wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a dozen GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series victories and the 2013 GT3 Cup Challenge USA Gold Cup Championship. Levitas also operates a suspension tuning company, DSC Sport and uses that background in competition in OPTIMA's Series.
In his first season out, Levitas' Porsche ran in two events and finished in the top-20 in the RECARO GTS Class. However, had he run a third event, he likely would've finished inside the top-10, which is no small feat in what has turned into the most-competitive class in the series. If competitors are sleeping on Levitas in 2019, because of his 2018 finish, that would be a mistake. Michael's 911 GT2RSx is signed up to run in all five events East of the Rocky Mountains and make a serious run at not only the RECARO GTS Class title, but the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car title at year's end.
You can watch the series unfold every weekend on MAVTV (Channel 214 on DIRECTV & 1105 on Uverse), starting Friday nights at 8PM Eastern.
