1969 Dodge Charger Battery
Whether your 1969 Dodge Charger has a base 3.7-liter six-cylinder or the massive 7.2-liter V8, OPTIMA offers four different batteries that will get your engine started and keep you running. These are all considered direct-fit upgrades, so they will fit in your stock battery location with no modifications.
If your Dodge Charger is basically stock, REDTOPs will do a great job for you. However, if your Dodge Charger has an aftermarket stereo, car alarm, dash cam or other significant electrical accessories, than a YELLOWTOP that is designed for both engine starting and deep-cycle use is the better choice. The lightest and least expensive of the four is our Group 25 REDTOP, which is about 10 pounds lighter than our D34/78 YELLOWTOP.
The Group 34 REDTOPs will offer the most cranking power at 800 Cold Cranking Amps and we offer that with either top terminals only in our Group 34 or both side and top terminals in our Group 34/78 REDTOP. That D34/78 YELLOWTOP will be in the middle on cranking power, but offer the most reserve capacity of the four options available.
Whichever battery you choose for your Charger, know that the key to maximizing battery performance and lifespan is keeping your battery voltage properly maintained whenever possible (~12.6-12.8V for REDTOPs & ~13.0-13.2V for YELLOWTOPs). We're so confident this is true, we will add an additional year of free replacement warranty coverage to your OPTIMA battery, if you purchase it directly from us and buy an OPTIMA 1200 series charger at the same time!
