Toyota pickups went by a few different names during the 1994 model year, including the T100, XK10 and XK20. There were also a couple different trim levels, including the DX and SR5. Regardless of the trim level, the battery options are determined by the engine size. While the Toyota pickup was initially only offered with a 3.0-liter V6, the 2.7-liter I4 was added in the 1994 model year.

The Group 25 OPTIMA REDTOP is the direct-fit upgrade option for Toyota pickups equipped with the 3.0-liter V6, while Toyota truck owners with the 2.7-liter engine can choose between Group 35 batteries in either a YELLOWTOP or REDTOP or the Group 34 OPTIMA REDTOP. The YELLOWTOP would be the better choice if the Toyota was outfitted with significant electrical accessories, including, a winch, aftermarket stereo, dashcam, car alarm or auxiliary lighting.

Regardless of which battery your Toyota truck needs, if you're still keeping a 30+ year old truck on the road, it's probably not getting driven on a regular basis. If that's the case, we'd highly recommend picking up a quality battery charger or maintainer to maximize battery performance and lifespan. We're so confident this is true, we'll add an additional year of free replacement warranty coverage to your OPTIMA battery, if you buy a 1200-series charger from us at the same time!
