Mark Golovin once again offers us a great example of a 2000 Camaro, with the F-body he owns and uses to compete in OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car series, presented by Advance Auto Parts. Golovin and all other 2000 Chevy Camaro owners use a Group 75/25 battery for their Camaros, of which OPTIMA offers two options- a REDTOP and a YELLOWTOP.

If the Camaro is stock from an electrical perspective, meaning it doesn't have underdrive pulleys, an aftermarket stereo or alarm system, then a 75/25 REDTOP will work great. However, if it has been modified electrically in any of those ways or more (like a drag car with no charging system), then a 75/25 YELLOWTOP is the appropriate option.

As this generation of Camaros are now more than 20 years old, most don't see daily use. If that's the case for your Camaro, we'd highly-recommend using a quality battery maintenance device to keep your battery ready to go whenever possible. Doing that will maximize battery performance and lifespan. In fact, we're so confident that is the case, we will extend the free replacement warranty on your OPTIMA battery by a full year, if you purchase your OPTIMA directly from us along with a Digital 1200 charger at the same time.
