The "CTS" in Cadillac CTS stands for "Catera Touring Sedan," or so we're told. Whether that's the case or not, the battery for this particular Cadillac is an H6, which is sometimes referred to as a "Group 48" battery or in the case of OPTIMA Batteries, a DH6 YELLOWTOP. The DH6 YELLOWTOP is a direct-fit replacement battery for the 2009 Cadillac CTS, meaning you can remove the battery that came from the factory and replace it with this battery without having to make any modifications to the battery or the battery tray that holds it.
The OPTIMA DH6 YELLOWTOP also has provisions for an external vent hose, because many of these batteries wind up being mounted inside a vehicle's trunk area. In the unlikely event any battery is severely-overcharged, the fumes it vent can be both flammable and toxic, so if your battery is mounted in the truck, be sure to hook up that vent tube to the outside atmosphere.
We should also mention that the OPTIMA DH6 YELLOWTOP battery is fully-charged at about 13.0-13.2 volts. Whenever any battery is discharged below 12.4 volts and is left sitting in that state, sulfation begins forming in the battery, which can diminish both capacity and lifespan of the battery. For that reason, we always recommend keeping your battery fully-charged, whenever possible. We're so confident this will maximize battery performance & lifespan, we'll add a full year of free replacement warranty coverage to your OPTIMA battery, if you buy that battery and an OPTIMA Digital 1200 charger from us at the same time.
