We don't know if Erik Cederberg will drive his Camaro all the way from Miramar, Florida to Las Vegas for the SEMA Show and the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational, presented by K&N Filters and Wilwood Brakes, but we have no reason to doubt he will. After all, Cederberg has already collected more than 40,000 miles on his new Camaro, driving to track events all over the country.
With driving habits like that, Erik can't afford to build a car that isn't 100% rock-solid and reliable. Power upgrades on his Camaro include a custom road course-specific camshaft, ported heads and a full exhaust system from Kooks. That combination gives him a 7300 rpm redline and plenty of top end power.
However, as Erik well knows, many races can be won or lost in the suspension and handling of a car. Since the Camaro also serves as a rolling testbed for parts and modifications at Erik's shop, Torq, Cederberg decided to put Pfadt's entire product line to the test. That list would include adjustable coil-overs, adjustable sway bars, a complete bushing kit, trailing arms, solid subframe mounts and of course their motor mounts. So far, the parts have held up well, even through some damp conditions. Forgeline GA3R wheels (20x10 in the front and 20x11 in the rear) are wrapped in Nitto NT-05 tires and the entire combination has proven to be very effective.
This is Erik's first foray into the OUSCI and he knows full well that he will be up against the very best of cars and drivers at Pahrump. However, this isn't exactly his first rodeo. Cederberg has logged track time at Nürburgring, Spa, and Sebring, and also managed to win La Carrera Panamerica in a '65 Corvette. This should be a good one, so don't miss your chance to see it in person. If you missed it, you can always watch the TV coverage free and on-demand on the OPTIMA Network on Roku.
