OPTIMA's Ultimate Street Car Invitational spent it's first six years at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. It was there, that the event went from being a small collection of enthusiasts from the SEMA Show to a budding international sensation. The OUSCI not only captivates the Pro-Touring crowd, but also draws in enthusiasts of import, Euro and late-model domestic vehicles with it's winner-take-all format.

The 2013 edition saw a broad array of cars (as indicated by the album below), but it was Brian Hobaugh's '65 Corvette that ultimately emerged as the winner. Hobaugh's C2 was the second Corvette in the event's history to win the top honor, following Danny Popp's 2011 victory in Todd Rumpke's C6. Winning the OUSCI was just the tip of the iceberg of stardom that would follow for Hobaugh's Vette. Several years later, it would be selected as the hero car for Letty in Fast & Furious 8 and make it's way onto the shelves of toy stores around the country in various formats from matchbox size to larger remote controlled-replicas. We hope Brian worked free samples of each into his contract!

The OUSCI iceberg has continued to grow with each passing year and the event has now moved to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Each episode of OPTIMA's Search for the Ultimate Street Car TV series is now filmed and televised on MAVTV, as well as the OPTIMA Networks on Roku and Amazon Fire. The 2018 search doesn't begin until March 17th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but registration opens on December 22nd at www.DriveOPTIMA.com If you have a street car that you'd like to run in this series, be sure to sign up soon, because all of these events do sell out!
