2014 Detroit Speed Road Rally Results

The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational, presented by KN Filters, started with a simple question- Can the incredible cars and trucks on display each year at the SEMA Show actually be driven on the street, let alone flogged at a race track? Every year for the last seven years, OPTIMA Batteries has been attempting to answer that question and as the OUSCI has evolved, an emphasis has been placed on making sure the cars invited are not just race cars with license plates, but legitimate street cars, capable of handling the same conditions everyone else sees in their daily drivers. That is where the Detroit Speed Road Rally comes into play.

Not only have the routes and checkpoints for the Detroit Speed Road Rally varied each year, but the challenges faced by competitors have as well, including everything from bumper to bumper traffic, to driving through the mountains in snowy conditions. While some competitors consider Detroit Speed Road Rally points to be an easy accomplishment, each year we see competitors struggle for a variety of reasons, to capture all 25 points, without which they simply cannot contend for the OUSCI title. The highest-finishing competitor in this year's event, who didn't accumulate all the available points barely finished inside the top-30 overall.

As with all segments of the OUSCI, if competitors do not attempt to compete in this event or fail to accumulate any points in it, they are automatically moved to the exhibition class. Competitors listed in the exhibition class here may have completed the Detroit Speed Road Rally in it's entirety, but may have been moved to exhibition due to their participation in other segments.
