For the second year in a row, Brandon Ranvek's 2006 Mitsubishi Evo topped the OUSCI field in the Detroit Speed Autocross. As always, the competition was absolutely fierce, as Ranvek held off his RS Motors teammate, Andy Smedegard and his 2006 Mitsubishi Evo by a mere .149 seconds. Third place Danny Popp and his 2003 Chevrolet Corvette was only .3115 seconds off the winning pace. That group of competitors really separated themselves from the rest of the pack, as fourth-place Mike DuSold's 1967 Chevy Camaro was 1.52 seconds off the winning pace and 1.209 seconds behind third-place Danny Popp- a fairly wide margin in an autocross competition.

The format of the Detroit Speed Autocross was once again two mirrored, side-by-side courses set up at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Although the courses were designed to mirror each other, most competitors found the right side course to be slightly slower than the left side course. Each competitor was allowed to run both courses a total of four times. The posted times for this event are the combined best times each competitor ran for each side of the course, regardless of whether they ran those times in the same run.
