The EAA Airventure in Oshkosh (or still the EAA Fly-In to some) is the largest air show gathering of it's kind in the world. The Experimental Aircraft Association hosts this event and during the week it is held in late-July, the tower at Wittman Regional Airport becomes the busiest in the world. Typical attendance exceeds 10,000 planes & 500,000 spectators. Since the event is always held in our backyard, we always try to stop in and check out the sights and sounds, which in 2017, had a bomber theme.

A USAF Boeing B-52 was on display all week and was joined by a B-1 and B-2. There were also two B-17s, several B-25s and the only two airworthy B-29s in the world, FIFI & Doc. The B-25s are scheduled to re-enact the Doolittle Raid in honer of the event's 75th anniversary and two of Jimmy Doolittle's grandchildren are scheduled to be in attendance. The US Navy Blue Angels are also scheduled to perform on Friday and Saturday, as well as the Barenaked Ladies on the opening night. As always, the OPTIMA Batteries rig is set up on display not far from Boeing Plaza and those who visit can sign up to win a free OPTIMA Battery.
