The 2020 Subaru BRZ and for that matter, all the BRZs built through at least 2026, as well as the Scion FR-S and Toyota 86 all use Group 35 batteries, of which OPTIMA offers two options- the 35 REDTOP and the D35 YELLOWTOP. Which battery is the right choice for your BRZ? That depends on how you use it.
If your vehicle is stock from an electrical perspective and doesn't have aftermarket stereo, alarm or dash cam equipment, the REDTOP 35 will offer plenty of cranking power. If your vehicle does have significant electrical accessories, like those mentioned or others, then a D35 YELLOWTOP is the better choice for both engine starting and deep cycle use.
