Ricardo Duarte has been battling Becker's Muscular Dystrophy since he was eight years old. Even though he is now confined to a bed and connected to a ventilator 24 hours a day, Ricardo is able to live in his own apartment in Pembrooke Pines, Florida. However, when hurricanes hit the state of Florida, as they have been known to do, Ricardo depends on the back-up power of OPTIMA BLUETOP batteries to keep his equipment functioning when power is lost.
