The battery in a Polaris RZR is typically located on the driver's seat. That means if you want to access the battery, you'll probably have to completely remove the driver's seat. Once that's done, you'll need to remove the battery hold down and get the cables removed and tucked out of the way, before removing the battery. That's a lot of work, just to get at the battery, so you definitely don't want to do it more often than necessary. That's where lithium batteries can come into play.

Quality lithium batteries, like OPTIMA's QUAD30 ORANGETOP have an order of magnitude greater cycle life than a flooded lead-acid or even an AGM battery. They are backed by a five-year, free replacement warranty, which is also an order of magnitude longer than many powersports battery warranties, which may only offer as little as 30 days of coverage.

The benefits of a quality lithium battery like an OPTIMA ORANGETOP don't just begin and end with vastly superior cycle life. OPTIMA's QUAD 30 lithium battery also come with our patented POWERLINK system, which gives you remote access to your battery to turn it on and off, check voltage and connect an OPTIMA charger, if needed. While the robust BMS in an OPTIMA ORANGETOP powersports battery will have no trouble interacting with the charging system on a Polaris, when it comes to stand alone chargers, you should always use one that is designed specifically for lithium batteries or at least has lithium-specific settings. If you purchase a lithium battery and an OPTIMA D1200+ charger from us at the same time, we'll add an additional year of free replacement warranty coverage to your OPTIMA battery! Other than that, upgrading to a lithium battery in a Polaris RZR is relatively easy.

You may have noticed us using the qualifier "quality" when describing lithium battery upgrades. What does that mean? Making sure the lithium battery you select has good quality cells and a robust battery management system. How can a person unfamiliar with lithium batteries know if they're dealing with a quality lithium battery brand? We've found quality lithium battery brands will operate out of a dedicated commercial location (not a generic warehouse or rented mailbox) and will have a domestic customer support center, who answers a toll-free number during normal business hours.

If you buy a battery from a lithium brand that relies on someone else to manufacture and ship their products, who do you contact, if the battery is damaged, lost or stolen in shipping? If you need warranty or technical help, will it take two or three days for someone to answer an email? If you need to ship a battery for warranty service, will you have to pay for shipping? Get those questions answered before you purchase your lithium battery and you're likely to have a much better experience with it!
