If your Chevelle is basically stock from an electrical standpoint, an appropriately sized REDTOP will offer plenty of cranking power. If your Chevelle has underdrive pulleys or significant electrical upgrades, like a dash camera, aftermarket stereo system, car alarm, etc..., then an appropriately sized YELLOWTOP would be the better choice for both engine starting and deep-cycle use.
Whatever battery you choose for your Chevelle, make sure you keep your voltage properly maintained whenever possible (at least 12.6V for REDTOPs and ~13.0V for YELLOWTOPs).
