The Ford F450 truck has been a mainstay of Ford's medium duty lineup, although some still refer to the 450 as a "one-ton." The factory battery for these trucks has largely been the Group 65 battery, but OPTIMA offers two upgrade options in our Group 34 batteries, either a REDTOP or YELLOWTOP. The REDTOP is a great cranking battery in stock trucks, while the YELLOWTOP offers both solid cranking power and the ability to be deep-cycled.
That means if you have significant electrical accessories on your F450, like a winch, snowplow, auxiliary lighting, an aftermarket CB or other similar electrical demands, then the YELLOWTOP will be the better choice. Both batteries come with a three-year, free replacement warranty in consumer applications, but you can extend that free replacement warranty by an additional year, if you buy your batteries directly from us and purchase a 1200 series OPTIMA battery charger at the same time!
