Harley Davidson Street Glide Battery

Harley-Davidson has been producing the Street Glide motorcycle since 2006 and in that time, one constant has remained- a Group 30 battery size. Cold Weather Operation

One of the most common questions we get about lithium batteries are cold weather operation. While it is true that turning a headlight on can internally heat a lithium battery and help it perform better in cold weather, OPTIMA's lithium batteries have an operating range from 0°F to 140°F.

Extreme Heat & Safety Questions

Another question we get speaks to the other end of things- extreme heat. While millions of Americans carry lithium cell phone batteries around in their pockets all day long, there is concern about the possibility of lithium batteries catching fire. There are about five or six commonly used lithium chemistries right now and OPTIMA uses lithium iron phosphate, which is known to be a very safe and stable chemistry.

We've also taken the extra steps to have our ORANGETOP batteries tested and/or certified by independent third parties to the following applicable standards: UL 1973, UL 2580, UN38.3, IEC 62619 and IEC 63057. A google search can explain what all of those mean, but the Cliff's notes are that many of these tests are safety-related and done at both the cell and battery level, to make sure we are giving our customers the safest batteries possible.

Special Features

OPTIMA ORANGETOP batteries also come with our patented POWERLINK system, which allows you to remotely access the battery to charge it, turn it on or off and see state of charge. Anyone who has ever replaced a battery in a Street Glide, knows how involved the process can be, from removing the saddle bag and seat, just to access the battery. The POWERLINK saves the headache of having to go digging for the battery when you want to charge it or disconnect it for storage, etc...

OPTIMA's QUAD30 ORANGETOP battery also has our proprietary CPR system, which monitors battery state of charge, discharge and automatically turns the battery off, before it becomes completely discharged. That ensures there is enough energy left in the battery to start your Street Glide one more time and get you home safely.
