Not many folks remember Car Junkie TV. It was a bit ahead of it's time, but it was why David Freiburger originally left the friendly confines of Hot Rod Magazine. While that iteration didn't pan out and Freiburger returned to Hot Rod, the next incarnation, know famously known as Roadkill, more than panned out, it exploded in popularity. From an online show that started in 2012, the series evolved to incorporate a massive automotive gathering, known as Roadkill Nights, where fans of the show could come out and meet the guys and maybe even race their own cars.

The first event took place in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise and when 10,000 people showed up, they knew they were onto something. With Dodge onboard, the Roadkill Nights concept returned for 2016 to Kansas Speedway, which was also a stop on the Hot Rod Power Tour. It was there, that competitors were able to run down the pit road in the opposite direction of what you might see at a NASCAR race and run 1/8th-mile drags with a cash purse!

With OPTIMA being the official battery of Roadkil, we wanted to check the event out for ourselves and we were overwhelmed with how cool it was and how many incredible Mopars were on display. Dodge was also offering ridealongs, which basically involved sitting shotgun (and/or in the backseat) of a Viper or Hellcat-powered Mopar, as it did donuts in a controlled parking lot area of the venue. Sounds like fun? It is and if you get a chance to go to one, do it! Check out the massive album of (mostly) Mopars from the 2016 event below
