OPTIMA Batteries-sponsored super late model racer, Eddie Carrier Jr. is ready to take his Grover Motorsports #28 OPTIMA Batteries/Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle this weekend in the 21st Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Carrier Jr. started out the year really strong, but has been just a tick off the past few months. "It seems like we are starting to get things pointed back in the right direction and a big win at Eldora this weekend could definitely make everything better,” says Carrier Jr.

Eddie has enjoyed multiple strong runs in crown jewel races at Eldora Speedway, including a runner-up finish in the 2011 edition of the World 100. This weekend, the 21st Annual Dirt Late Model Dream will be held at the famed facility and action opens on Thursday, with twin, $2,500-to-win features. Friday plays host to twin $5,000-to-win features and the weekend draws to a close on Saturday evening with the preliminary action leading up to the $100,000-to-win finale. 

Eddie Carrier Jr. warmed up for his big weekend, with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition last Friday at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. He finished in the runner-up spot in his Friday night heat race and advanced one spot in the 50-lap A-Main to record a seventh place finish.

On Saturday night, Carrier Jr. followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, for the Ralph Latham Memorial. Eddie finished in fifth place in a heat that only advanced the top-four finishers and had to resort to racing his way into the feature in the B-Main. Carrier Jr ended up winning the B-Main and started in the 18th spot for the feature. He was able to move up six spots and finished in 12th place.
