SCCA Runoffs at Road America

Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is one of our favorite racing destinations and we took the hour-long drive up from OPTIMA World Headquarters to check out the 2013 SCCA Runoffs last weekend. The NFL doesn't like people using the word "Superbowl," but if they did, we would surely call this the "Superbowl of Sports Car Racing." Hundreds of entries stream in from all over the country, in cars of all shapes and sizes, hoping for a national title.

We spent all day Saturday taking in the action and even snapped a few pictures.  If you'd like to see them, check out our gallery below. We also picked up a few great stories about our batteries, including a testimonial from Brandon Peterson of Edwards, Colorado, who uses a 12-year old YELLOWTOP to power the winch for his Formula Vee racer. 

Sadly, the Runoffs mark the end of the major events at Road America for the 2013 season, although we still may find our way up their for some club events and private rentals, before the snow flies. We really enjoyed sponsoring Road America this year and hope the drivers and fans enjoyed the season!
