The Silver State Classic Challenge open road race is one of just a handful of such events to take place in the United States. Public roads are temporarily closed down and a temporary race course is set up for competitors to run on. In open road racing, accuracy is generally the goal, so if someone is running a 120-mile course and they're running in the 120 mph class, they want to finish with an average speed of 120.0000 mph and they go out to four decimal places because, because the competition is that accurate!
