Relative to other forms of motorsports- the Indy 500, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, even the Baja 1000, we're talking about an event in its infancy. King of the Motos begins and ends well before most folks associated with the King of the Hammers racing even reaches the lakebed, but it seems to be gaining in popularity.
New in 2025 was an event brought in by legendary motorcyclist and seven-time Supercross champion, Jeremy McGrath. That event was called King of the Grand Prix and while it may differ significantly from what motorcycle enthusiasts might typically associate with "MotoGP" references, it does combine the best of both desert racing and technical rock sections.
