2016 Charger Hellcat Battery
The 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat uses a Group H7, sometimes referred to as a 94R battery. OPTIMA offers a direct-fit
upgrade with our DH7 YELLOWTOP. These batteries are big, but it's not necessarily because the
supercharged Hemi needs that much cranking power. Modern vehicles use increasingly larger batteries because of
the additional reserve capacity they offer for electrical demands that have never been higher.
In that
regard, when shopping for a replacement battery for a Charger Hellcat, more weight generally equates to more capacity in
lead-acid batteries and OPTIMA's DH7 weighs in at just over 60 pounds for a battery rated at 80Ah. If you don't
anticipate deep cycling the battery a lot and are looking to save weight, you could opt for OPTIMA's QH6 lithium battery. It
will have more than enough cranking power to get your engine started and save you nearly 40 pounds when compared to the
DH7 YELLOWTOP. You will need to make some changes to how the battery is secured in your Charger, because it is a smaller
size, but aftermarket companies, like Weistec, offer adapters that will allow you to secure a QH6 in an H7/94R tray.
The QH6 ORANGETOP is a more
expensive option, but it does come with several benefits, starting with a five-year, free replacement warranty. It also
has OPTIMA's built-in CPR system that automatically disconnects your battery and turns it off, if it is being deeply
discharged, holding enough power in reserve to start your engine one more time and get you home safely. It also has
Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to turn the battery on and off and shares a lot of battery data, including
voltage, number of cycles and charge time before it reaches a full state of charge.
Regardless of which
battery you choose, the best thing you can do to maximize battery performance and lifespan is to keep the voltage
properly maintained. We're so confident this is true, we'll add an additional year of free replacement warranty
coverage to your OPTIMA battery, if you purchase an OPTIMA D1200+ battery
charger from us, when you make your OPTIMA battery purchase!
