The Indian Scout Bobber was redesigned for the 2025 model year and when that happened, Indian decided to use a larger, Group 20 battery, which OPTIMA offers in our powerful, lightweight QUAD20 ORANGETOP. OPTIMA's powerful QUAD16 ORANGETOP can also be used as an alternate fitment with included foam fitment blocks. Prior to that (2015-2024), many Indian Scouts used a smaller QUAD12 ORANGETOP.
You may notice some other fitments suggest a Group 14 battery, like a YTX14AH. The dimensions for that battery are 134mm x 89mm x 166mm. The 134mm length is a bit of an oddball size for AGM powersports batteries, but was often used for Group "12" battery sizes. OPTIMA's QUAD14 is a 150mm x 87mm x 146mm, which makes OPTIMA's QUAD12 the best match at 133mm x 69mm x 93mm. It still has more than enough cranking power to get you started, but you should check our fitment guide to ensure you pick the ride battery for your Scout, but regardless of the size it needs, OPTIMA ORANGETOP batteries are packed with some great features!
OPTIMA's patented POWERLINK™ system gives you remote access to your battery. That's particularly beneficial on Scouts, which typically require the removal of your seat and fuse box to access the battery. OPTIMA's POWERLINK allows you to turn the battery on and off, check charge status and remotely connect an OPTIMA battery charger to keep the voltage properly maintained without having to remove the seat or fuse box, by connecting to our remote dongle.
OPTIMA ORANGETOP batteries also come with our built-in OPTIMA CPR® system that automatically disconnects your battery from a power draw and turns it off, if it is becoming deeply discharged, holding enough power in reserve to start your bike one more time and get you home safely.
