What Years are Squarebody Chevy Trucks?
1973 was the first production year of General Motors' Squarebody trucks on both the Chevrolet and GMC line of trucks. The production years for most square body GM trucks ran from 1973 to 1987. The next generation of GM trucks, known as the GMT400 and later "OBS" for "Old Body Style" came online in most pickup trucks for the 1988 model year. However, General Motors continued to produce the SUVs (Suburbans, Jimmys and Blazers) through the 1991 model year, as well as some one-ton trucks, including crew cabs.
